Compliments of the new season to everyone!

Dear Partners,

Greetings!

It is my pleasure to extend compliments of 2010 to all our partners, to thank you for the enormous support you gave Kubatsirana and clients during the year 2009 and before.

Indeed 2009 was a difficult year characterized by the global financial crisis, increasing competing demands and experiencing our organizational change process. During Kubatsirana’s cultural review in 2008, it was agreed by all parties that Kubatsirana should now shift its role to that of facilitator. As I took office in the beginning of 2009, almost all funding contracts were ending in the same year and there were no operational funds available. The organization had no resources of its own neither were there mobilization and sustainability strategies. With the very limited resources Kubatsirana managed to make remarkable progress towards the change process through having its first and historic comprehensive audit, reviewing systems and quality of service delivery in line with the new 2009-2013 Strategic Plan and preparing for the 9th General Assembly in March 2010.

Through sacrifice and hardship the change process limped. In that process every effort was put to minimize the wide range of unintended consequences that could lead to a significant loss of productivity for the organization and distress to staff. Progress was made in such a way that all the people involved would say that the process was conducted fairly, openly and with integrity; the strategic objectives of Kubatsirana continued to be met; and productivity was maintained to the optimal extent possible throughout the year.

My own experience, and indeed that of the General Board, staff, partners and clients is that change itself is very stressful. Notwithstanding these growing pains, the organization will continue in this direction taking into account lessons learnt, correcting shortcomings and working on setting standards. The organization still needs substantial resources for successful completion.

Kubatsirana remains committed to implementing and completing the change process this year. Setting of standards is expected to be done before the General Assembly. A new leadership will be elected at the General Assembly. Additional hard and software will be required to match the new role. Some staff changes will take place. Re-training and orientation will be necessary. Improved working conditions will require additional resources. These changes will see Kubatsirana as a prepared model association that makes real change in the lives of the needy. However, all these can be possible with the continued generous support from the partners, particularly now to continue the momentum of change.

My greatest desire is to have this important phase successfully completed on time and therefore appeal to all partners to support Kubatsirana by collectively implementing what we all agreed and committed to, so as to achieve a shared success and greater impact in our mutual endeavors.

I take this opportunity to share with you some biblical teachings that I feel are very relevant to the current situation at Kubatsirana.

Let us bear one another’s burden (Galatians 6:9-10)

Let us run towards the goal (Philippians 3:12-14)

Let us keep walking on the right path. (Hebrews 12:13)

May I take the joy of wishing you all good health and prosperity.

May you all be truly blessed.
