In 2009 Kubatsirana entered a momentous change and assumed a higher level of facilitation. Its operational model is to work through churches and other community groups that share Christian values. Kubatsirana supports these institutions by building and enhancing their capacities and providing them with resources with the ultimate focus on reaching, generally the most vulnerable individuals and families and, in particular, those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS in Mozambique. This work is guided by the biblical message from Isaiah 6:8 that read: Then I heard the Lord say, “Whom shall I send? Who will be our messenger?” I answered, “I will go! Send me!” Kubatsirana works in collaboration with local, regional and international partners to facilitate quality and comprehensive Christian responses to mitigate the effects of HIV and AIDS regain sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable communities and contribute to a sustainable socio-economic development of Mozambique. The program areas include prevention, care and support, advocacy, action research and capacity building and other social support activities. Our participatory approach allows for the engagement of all stakeholders. These interventions contribute towards the national strategic plan and Millennium Development Goals. Kubatsirana aspires to be learning and sustainable organization that can ensure a provision of quality services that will impact the lives of vulnerable people in positive ways. |
